What to do if you are injured

When railroaders are injured keep in mind the following rules:

  • (1) Get the names and addresses of all persons who saw the accident.
  • (2) Report the accident and injury to your Union.
  • (3) Do not make or sign any statement.
  • (4) Know your rights. Do not accept the railroad's advice or decision as to
how much money you are entitled to receive.
  • (5) Consult your lawyer. Protect yourself and your family.
