TCU Membership

TCU has approximately 45,000 members in the United States and Canada. Our members are employed primarily in transportation and communications-related fields; they work as clerks, carmen, computer programmers, skycaps, and redcaps, on-board service workers, secretaries, supervisors, truck drivers, accountants, yardmasters, police officers, grain handlers, reservation agents, and transit workers. TCU members work in every state in the United States. Together we form a diverse alliance.

The circumstances of our work lives today bear little resemblance to conditions that existed in the 19th and early 20th century when workers first started to organize. But the fundamental reason for union action - control over our lives and improvement for ourselves and our children - remains the same.
